The single most important number on your Meralco bill is not the total amount. It's the kWh consumed. This is found on the billing statement as 'Present Reading minus Previous Reading.' Your total bill in pesos is affected by fluctuating charges, subsidies, and taxes — but kWh consumed tells the real story of how much energy your household actually uses.
Why does this matter? Because a solar system is sized to replace kWh, not pesos. If your bill is ₱10,000 this month and ₱7,000 next month, the kWh difference tells you why — your aircon ran more, guests visited, or the weather changed.
For accurate solar sizing, you need 12 months of kWh data. Meralco provides this online at meralco.com.ph under your account. A single month is unreliable — March (peak summer, maximum AC) can be 40–60% higher than December.
The second number to find is your distribution transformer zone. This determines whether your neighborhood line can even accept a net-metered system — something your installer must check before you commit to a system size.
